Pretende-se neste artigo estudar a influência do turismo internacional nas exportações de produtos agroalimentares. Para analisar este efeito aplicou-se um inquérito por questionário a uma amostra de visitantes internacionais (N=500), que em 2015 visitaram Portugal. A análise dos resultados obtidos permite compreender o nível de consumo de produtos agroalimentares durante a sua visita a Portugal, os locais onde esses produtos foram consumidos e as intenções futuras em termos de voltar a comprar esses produtos quando regressarem ao seu país de origem e também de os recomendarem ao seu grupo de familiares e amigos. Os resultados permitem também identificar diferenças em termos de produtos agroalimentares que têm uma grande importância em Portugal (azeite, conservas, enchidos, queijo e vinho), no que se refere à frequência de consumo, locais de consumo e intenções futuras de compra e de recomendação. Com base nestes resultados apresentam-se algumas recomendações que servem de suporte à definição de estratégias que contribuam para aumentar a influência do turismo internacional nas exportações de produtos agroalimentares.
