Abordagens clínicas para hipersensibilidade dentinária: revisão da literatura Article Swipe

A hipersensibilidade dentinária é uma condição odontológica comum e muito presente nos consultórios na atualidade, sinalizada por dor aguda e curta em resposta a estímulos. Este trabalho visa compreender a sua etiologia, como ela afeta a vida do paciente e seus possíveis tratamentos. Para isso foi realizada uma busca em bases como PubMed e SciELO, nos idiomas inglês e português, usando como descritores “laser therapy”, “dentin sensitivity”, “gingival retraction”, “quality of life”, “dentin”. Dentre as causas etiológicas, o movimento dos fluidos dentro dos túbulos dentinários expostos ao meio bucal, é apontado como principal fator responsável pela manifestação dolorosa do paciente. A hipersensibilidade dentinária atinge entre 11,5 a 33,5% da população mundial, é distribuída igualmente entre homens e mulheres, sendo mais frequente em jovens adultos. As condutas de tratamento consistem no uso de fluoretados, dentifrícios, materiais restauradores, selantes dentários e uso de lasers de baixa e alta intensidade, sendo sua escolha determinada a partir do quadro individual do paciente e do diagnóstico estabelecido pelo Cirurgião Dentista.
