We report a new record of the harlequin toad Atelopus marinkellei Cochran & Goin, 1970, a Critically Endangered species endemic to Colombia. A single individual was observed in the Siscunsí páramo, after two decades without confirmed sightings. The finding was made by community park rangers during routine monitoring. This observation reinforces the importance of community-based conservation and systematic habitat monitoring to protect this species, which may persist in a highly localized remnant population.
