A BSTRACT The abnormal uncontrolled growth in the glial cell of the nervous system is called glioma. Although there is no direct reference to glioma found in Ayurveda, the clinical manifestations may be somewhat similar to Kapha pradhana vataja Shiroroga . A young male patient with glioma visited in cancer consultation and treatment unit Department. of Agadtantra, National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur on December 24, 2021, with complaints of weakness of left hand during seizures lasting about 1 min, vertigo, headache, vomiting, and occasionally numbness in left lower limb for 1 month. Magnetic resonance imaging brain showed heterogeneous mass lesions of approximately 31 × 27 × 27 in the right paracentral lobule involving the cortex. The patient was treated with Vamana followed by Virechana and Nasya for 1 month as per standard protocol under the supervision of a Panchakarma expert with the oral as Shamana Chikitsa . Locally, Dashmoola Taila followed by Shirolepa of Dhaturadi Kalka was administered for 1 month every day. A healthy and light diet was advised to the patient. After treatment of 6 months, the clinical gradation reduced from 12 to 2, which showed significant clinical improvement. Thus, the patient with glioma was treated and found significant improvement in view of clinical and radiological parameters with an improvement of quality of life successfully solely with ayurvedic treatment.
