We study the convergence of density operators of \nsingle-mode linear quantum systems towards their steady states \nin trace norm. We give compact and intuitive necessary and \nsufficient conditions for such linear quantum systems to have \npure Gaussian steady states in terms of the Hamiltonian and \ncoupling operators.
