Various materials that act as contaminants and water pollutants, i.e. heavy metals, nonmetals, various types of dyes, and so on which cause a severe hazard to ecological systems and human health. This chapter aims to explore the outstanding environmental remediation, electrocatalytic remediation of contaminants, and adsorption capacity of core–shell materials for various heavy metal ions and other pollutants. It performs a vital part of the new areas under advanced attentive gatherings of the studies in any academic field. The chapter objective is to emphasize the progress of the following five diverse characteristics of core–shell NPs. These are classification of NPs, properties of NPs, mechanisms of synthesis process, characterization techniques, and applications of core–shell nanoparticles. The growth of new materials has the potential and fascinating the researcher's interest in refining the treatment of cancer and many other life-threatening diseases.
