Abstract In this paper, we present counterexamples to maximal $$L^p$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msup> <mml:mi>L</mml:mi> <mml:mi>p</mml:mi> </mml:msup> </mml:math> -regularity for a parabolic PDE. The example is a second-order operator in divergence form with space and time-dependent coefficients.
