Development of a system for heating and cooling targets in laser-based dynamic compression experiments

The ability to study the temperature dependence of material properties for various microstructures under extreme loading conditions enables a greater understanding of a range of high pressure, high strain rate phenomena, extending from space and planetary science to fundamental material science.
