Introdução: A diarreia e as gastroenterites infecciosas de origem presumível (CID A09) representam um dos principais desafios de saúde pública, especialmente no Brasil. Dessa forma, esta condição é responsável por um número significativo de internações e óbitos, principalmente nas crianças e adolescentes. Nesse sentido, sua transmissão ocorre, muitas vezes, por ingestão de água e alimentos contaminados, colocando demostrando a precariedade no saneamento básico brasileiro. Objetivo: Analisar o perfil epidemiológico das internações por diarreia e gastroenterites de origem infecciosa presumível na população pediátrica no Brasil entre 2019 a 2024.Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo ecológico descritivo baseado nos dados secundários extraídos do Departamento do Sistema Único de Saúde (DATASUS), que analisou o número de notificações de internação por diarreia e gastroenterite de origem presumível na população pediátrica (0 a 19 anos), no período de 2019 a 2024.Os dados foram coletados em março de 2025, com tabelas organizadas no programa Microsoft Office Excel (versão 2010). Resultados e Discussão: No período analisado, foram notificados 315.260 casos de internação por diarreia e gastroenterite infecciosa presumível em crianças e adolescentes até 19 anos no Brasil. Nesse cenário, a Região Nordeste foi a área com maior número de notificações, totalizando 120.744 casos. Nota-se a predominância do gênero masculino na distribuição por sexo, com 165.981 casos. Observou-se que em relação a raça a população parda foi a mais afetada, com 193.496 internações. Os resultados obtidos revelam uma alta incidência de casos na faixa etária de 1 a 4 anos. Além disso, o número de óbitos foi de 423 casos. Conclusão: Observa-se que a parcela pediátrica mais atingida são os mais jovens, demostrando uma fragilidade na proteção das crianças. Outrossim, o estado do Norte representa a área geográfica do país mais afetada, destacando a importância de implementar políticas públicas que visem a diminuição das hospitalizações e mortes por diarreia e gastroenterite na população pediátrica.
