This dataset contains 22 confocal and 22 split detection ROIs where the rod mosaic was completely visualized. These data correspond to Figures 3, 4, and 6 as well as Table 2. There are 22 rod coordinate files that were used to provide direct estimates of rod density (by counting every visible rod in the image) in addition to spacing-derived estimates of rod density. There are 176 cone coordinate files, 44 from each grader (1-4), labeled as either count 1 or count 2. Cone coordinates from grader 1 count 1 were used to compare direct rod density estimates to spacing-derived rod density estimates in Fig. 4.
