Our results offer guidance in selecting inverse methods and IED phases for hd-ESI, compare the performance of hd-ESI and <sup>18</sup>FDG-PET and encourage future studies in investigating the relationship between interictal ESI and <sup>18</sup>FDG-PET hypometabolism.
