Two pairs of enantiomers were obtained via self-assembly of sulfonylcalix[4]arene tetranuclear M( ii ) clusters (M = Co or Ni) with enantiomerically enriched linkers based on tris(dipyrrinato)cobalt( iii ) complexes, leading to nanosized porous cages.
