INTRODUÇÃO: O Diabetes Mellitus (DM) é classificado como um agravo de saúde mundial no século XXI, sendo uma síndrome crônica e multifatorial caracterizada pela hiperglicemia resultante da ausência ou da incapacidade da insulina de exercer seus efeitos. As complicações associadas ao DM estão entre as maiores causas de mortes globalmente. OBJETIVO: Descrever a ação da fotobiomodulação com laser na cicatrização de úlceras pós-amputações menores em pacientes com Diabetes Mellitus através de uma revisão integrativa. METODOLOGIA. O presente estudo é uma revisão integrativa que deu origem a um ensaio clínico controlado. A metodologia explorou dados qualitativos por meio de uma busca sistemática relacionada ao uso de laser na cicatrização de úlceras pós-amputação em pacientes com DM. Neste estudo foram apresentados 7 artigos de um total de 38 avaliados. RESULTADOS E DISCUSSÃO - A FBM (Fotobiomodulação) é definida como a aplicação de luz, geralmente nos espectros visíveis ou infravermelhos próximos, para estimular ou inibir funções celulares a fim de obter efeitos benéficos, como alívio da dor, redução da inflamação, regeneração tecidual e cicatrização de feridas. Os 7 estudos clínicos analisados relataram a ação da FBM no tratamento de lesões em pés diabéticos, demonstrando resultados favoráveis, uma vez que, de acordo com os estudos , estimula a proliferação de fibroblastos e queratinócitos dérmicos, vitais para a fase de proliferação celular no processo de cicatrização. CONSIDERAÇÕES FINAIS: O estudo fornece dados que demonstram que a fotobiomodulação com laser é eficaz, sendo capaz de reduzir a área da lesão e acelerar significativamente o processo de cicatrização em pacientes com DM. A efetividade e responsividade desta terapêutica foram evidenciadas pelos estudos analisados. Contudo, foi identificada a ausência de ensaios clínicos específicos que utilizassem a Terapia a Laser de Baixa Intensidade (LLLT) em lesões pós-amputações menores, embora haja vasta literatura sobre o tratamento de úlceras de pé diabético.
