Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PCMP) is a cardiomyopathy with impaired LV systolic function that develops in pregnant women or in the first months after childbirth. Clinical manifestations can vary from mild or moderate to severe symptoms of heart failure with significant functional limitation and high mortality. The mechanisms of PCMP development are unknown, and there is no specific treatment.
