Penelitian ini bertujuan menyelidiki karakteristik kekuatan tarik sambungan las tak sejenis antara baja karbon dan stainless steel dengan variasi kuat arus. Bahan utama baja karbon rendah ST37, SS316L dan SS304, dengan menggunakan filler E308. Pengelasan ST37-SS316L menggunakan las SMAW, sedangkan pengelasan ST37-SS304 menggunakan las GMAW. Variasi kuat arus yang digunakan berturut adalah 70A, 80A dan 90A. Pengujian tarik dilakukan dengan mesin uji tarik UTM untuk mengetahui karakteristik kekuatan tarik dari kedua sambungan sesuai standar ASTM E8M. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, karakteristik kekuatan tarik sambungan las paling lemah terjadi di daerah sekitar HAZ pada baja karbon.
