Siswa harus memiliki salah satu keterampilan berpikir yaitu keterampilan berpikir kreatif untuk menghadapi tantangan pada abad ke-21. Adanya keterampilan berpikir kreatif mampu menunjang siswa untuk terasah keterampilannya dan terlatih dalam menyelesaikan suatu masalah terutama dalam pembelajaran IPA. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis keefektifan model PBL berbantuan media teka teki silang terhadap keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif menggunakan jenis Quasi Eksperiment dengan desain penelitian Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian kelas VIII SMPN 6 Magelang dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu kelas eksperimen memiliki hasil yang lebih baik dengan besar nilai N-Gain kelas eksperimen yakni 0,72 termasuk kategori tinggi, sedangkan kelas kontrol yaitu 0,55 termasuk kategori sedang. Hasil hipotesis paired sample t-test kelas eksperimen dan kontrol nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, hasil uji independent sample t-test pada nilai pretest yaitu 0,068 > 0,05, sedangkan pada nilai posttest yaitu 0,00 < 0,05. Dengan demikian, PBL dapat dikatakan efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP pada tema kenali cara bernapas.Students must have one of the thinking skills, namely creative thinking skills to face challenges in the 21st century. The existence of creative thinking skills can support students to hone their skills and be trained in solving problems, especially in science learning. The aim of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of the PBL model assisted by crossword media on the creative thinking skills of junior high school students. This research uses a quantitative method using a Quasi Experimental type with a Non-equivalent Control Group Design. This subjects for class VIII SMPN 6 Magelang using purposive sampling technique. The research results obtained were that the experimental class had better results with a large N-Gain value for the experimental class, namely 0.72, which was in the high category, the control class, namely 0.55, was in the medium category. Hypothesis results of paired sample t-test for experimental class and control Asymp values. Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000 < 0.05, the results of the independent sample t-test on the pretest value are 0.068 > 0.05, while the posttest value is 0.00 < 0.05. Thus, PBL can be said to be effective in improving junior high school students' creative thinking skills on the theme of recognizing how to breathe.
