The issue of registering the names of lot lidi purchasers in the document of land title remains unresolved. The failure to register these names has resulted in purchasers being unable to enjoy the rights guaranteed under the National Land Code (NLC). This study focuses on the legal aspects of land administration in seeking a solution for the registration of purchasers' names in document of title. The objective of this study is to develop a legal solution based on sections 197 and 76 of the NLC. Employing a qualitative research approach, the study utilises semi-structured interviews with respondents comprising land administrators, legal officers, legal practitioners, and academics. The findings of the study reveal that the synergy between sections 197 and 76 of the NLC may serve as a viable legal framework to address the issue of registering purchasers’ names in document of title. This discovery offers a potential pathway toward resolving the registration problem and ensuring that purchasers’ names are formally recorded in document of title.
