Les discours sur l’hérédité et la reproduction Article Swipe
Ernst Haeckel fait partie d’un groupe de biologistes qui, au xixe siècle, ont développé une conception de l’hérédité en réaction à la théorie darwinienne de l’évolution. Déjà dans sa Generelle Morphologie (1866), Haeckel avait élaboré des lois de l’hérédité qu’il continua à discuter dans sa Natürliche Schöpfungsgeschichte (1868) ainsi que dans sa Perigenesis der Plastidule (1876). Cet article analyse l’approche de Haeckel dans le contexte des théories de l’évolution émergentes vers la fin du xixe siècle. On suit ici les différentes pistes de l’approche haeckelienne : des perspectives évolutionnaires s’étendant de Lamarck jusqu’à Darwin ont été mêlées à des concepts de la reproduction et de la croissance et s’enrichirent aussi de nombreuses métaphores culturelles et littéraires.
