L’espoir dans l’analyse économique : de l’approche psychologique à une conception transactionnelle et institutionnelle Article Swipe
Les émotions ont été progressivement intégrées dans l’analyse économique depuis une trentaine d’années. L’espoir demeure cependant une émotion peu mobilisée par les économistes. Aucun des concepts proches couramment utilisés ne correspond à la définition consensuelle que l’on trouve en psychologie. En s’appuyant sur des notions comme les attentes, les aspirations, l’optimisme, les anticipations ou même la confiance, l’économie comportementale fournit les premiers jalons (certes insuffisants) d’une théorie économique de l’espoir. En nous reposant sur la théorie psychologique de Richard Snyder, et en la comparant à l’approche transactionnelle de John Dewey, nous montrons que l’espoir peut être perçu comme un mode de conduite capable de produire une transformation des comportements individuels. En mobilisant la théorie institutionnelle de John Commons – et notamment la notion de « futurité » – il apparaît que la conception transactionnelle de l’espoir approfondit la nature des anticipations dans la théorie institutionnelle.
