Dataset of neutral long-lived particles (LLP) decaying to charged particles in a monitored-drift-tube like detector. The dataset is split according to the number of charged particles, from two to ten, the neutral LLP is decaying into and in background or signal according to the LLP decay length. The dataset has been used for the results presented in https://arxiv.org/abs/2307.05152. The toy simulation used for the creation of this dataset can be summarised as follows: generation of a neutral LLP and of its charged decay products in the MDT detector volume and within the magnetic field; simulation of the detection of the decay products through the formation of hits in the MDT chambers; estimation of the experimental effects on the hit positions using the resolutions of the ATLAS MDT detector; addition of detector noise and background accounting for the measured average rate during the data-taking of the LHC.
