O ensaio faz o elogio a Diego Armando Maradona. Um atleta (futebolista) que encimou o humano nas suas mais diversas dimensões. Por um lado, a imanência na sua complexidade individual, psicológica, social e axiológica (o bem, o bom, o belo e o seus contrários); por outro, a transcendência da (na) imanência na medida em que eleva facetas e virtudes que o homem comum não consegue mas gostaria de atingir. Maradona acabou por projetar toda a dimensão mítica e lendária dos arquétipos dos heróis Gregos e Romanos, onde excelência e fragilidade (sua superação) convivem, numa (re) interpretação incessante.
