We, the guest editors, thank everyone who has contributed to this virtual special issue (VSI), Microgrids 2025. This editorial includes a brief blurb for each accepted paper, collected in five loose areas. The topics represented do not settle neatly into categories, so we apologize in advance to any authors who find their work is not correctly represented.
