Patients with special needs are people who have mental, physical, organic, social and / or behavioral changes and require special service for a period or throughout his life, establishing in this way the right to a dignified life. The NEAPE (Núcleo de Estudo e Atendimento a Pacientes Especiais) provides dental care at the Children's Clinic at the Institute of Science and Technology of São José dos Campos / UNESP since 2001.
