Land burning activities in South Sumatra, as a result of which a number of surrounding areas have been hit by smoke haze, including the city of Palembang. This can have an impact on air quality which is getting worse. Air is an important element for life, so air must have a good index so that it does not have a negative impact on body health. Apart from combustion smoke, there are other factors that influence air quality such as cigarette smoke, waste burning smoke, motor vehicle smoke, factory smoke, etc. Because of this, it is very necessary to have a system that can be used to monitor the quality of the surrounding air. Based on this, this article will discuss portable air quality monitoring tools and make it easier for users to monitor air quality regularly. In this project, the ESP32 microcontroller is used as the main component that can connect to the programming language. Apart from that, three sensors are used to measure air quality, namely the DHT11 sensor for temperature and humidity, the MQ-135 sensor for gas and the Dust Sensor for particular dust. Then the buzzer component is used as the output component. This project will produce an IoT-based air quality monitoring tool that is connected to blynk iot application so that the output will display notifications from the application and also have a sound output produced by a buzzer when the measured sensor reading exceeds the normal or standard limit.
