A growing body of literature is revealing the impact of the transition to university on well-being, mental health, academic performance, and understandably, retention rates. Previous work has highlighted the important role social media can play in this transition. Our work explores factors which may assist in building a feeling of loneliness, particularly in light of social media platforms that are being used to navigate this transition.
