Protective Effects of Natural Non‐insulin Drugs against Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus Article Swipe

Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM), often known as autoimmune diabetes, affects 10 million people around the world. This condition is characterized by the death of pancreatic cells by autoimmunity, resulting in insulin insufficiency, hyperglycemia, and complications. The only treatment option is insulin injection, but it comes with a slew of significant side effects. Immunotherapy, replacement therapy, and combination therapy are all now used to treat T1DM. Despite recent advancements in anti-diabetic therapies, none of these options has proven to be clinically effective. Plants and their secondary metabolites are a fantastic source of natural medications for a variety of ailments. Natural products and their derivatives have been used to generate 50% of prescription medications in the last 25 years. We attempt to offer a scientific viewpoint on the application of traditional natural medications for the treatment of diabetes.
