Inconel is an alloy that can withstand high temperatures. It can retain the majority of its mechanical strength at high temperatures, and due to other integral properties, sees widespread utilization in the industries concerning aviation. Inconel is a nickel-based alloy. Its machining is difficult, and conventional methods fall short of the standards. Laser beam machining, a non-traditional machining technique, is used here and considers process variables such as depth of cut, laser power, laser distance from the point on the job, cutting speed, and feed rate. Surface roughness, surface finish, cutting forces, temperature during machining, tool wear, and a few other variables are examined as output variables. With laser beam machining serving as the machining technique, the review paper's goal is to give readers a glimpse into some of the various experiments performed on Inconel 718.
