Review of: "[Commentary] Building a digital republic to reduce health disparities and improve population health in the United States" Article Swipe
Potential competing interests: No potential competing interests to declare.Very interesting premise on the multifactorial nature of population health in the future.Would be helpful if writers elaborated more on a unified health record.A major issue in integration of care is fragmented electronic (and paper) medical records that are not in a centralized area. This could also give providers a better health picture and prevent overuse of medical resources and excessive testing. An issue that may prevent a system similar to Estonia that the authors could be elaborate on is psychosocial i.e. it remains to be seen whether a large segment of the U.S. population would be in favor of such a centralized system.Ostensibly why there is still a lack of universal health coverage.Overall agree with using Medicaid, ACA, etc. as reasonable starting points.Well-researched piece that is quite thought provoking.
