改良した結晶化方法でニトロベンゼン, アセトフェノンなどからポリエチレンテレフタレートの単結晶をつくった。結晶の形態はなお明確でないが, 細長い平行四辺形状であると考えられる。単結晶からの電子線回折像は分子鎖の傾斜していることを示し, その傾斜角は約25°である。単結晶と同時に球晶, 樹枝晶, 双晶, らせん転位で成長した結晶が認められた。単結晶の厚さは約100A程度で, その厚さは結晶化温度および溶媒の種類によって変わることを小角X線回折で確認した。
