Gangguan pendengaran merupakan suatu keadaan dimana seseorang kehilangan kemampuannya untuk dapat mendengar suara baik sebagian maupun secara keseluruhan. Gangguan pendengaran dapat disebabkan oleh beberapa hal diantaranya genetik, komplikasi pada saat kelahiran, paparan kebisingan yang berlebihan, penggunaan obat-obatan, infeksi telinga kronis dan penuaan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran gangguan pendengaran akibat bising yang dialami pekerja Pabrik Es Perum Perikanan Indonesia Medan Belawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode observasional. Hasil dari penelitian yang dilakukan adalah 3 dari 8 informan mengalami gangguan pendengaran. Sumber utama dari kebisingan di Pabrik Es Perum Perikanan Indonesia adalah mesin dan generator yang digunakan dalam proses produksi. Jam kerja dari para pekerja dan intensitas paparan kebisingan dianggap melebihi Nilai Ambang Batas (NAB) yang ditetapkan dimana para pekerja bekerja selama 12 jam dengan intensitas kebisingan mencapai 90,1 dBA. Seluruh informan tidak menggunakan Alat pelindung diri berupa ear plug atau ear muff sehingga fungsi pendengaran mereka terganggu selama bekerja. Diharapkan Pabrik Es Perum Perikanan Indonesia Medan Belawan dapat menyediakan alat pelindung diri yang sesuai dengan peraturan yang telah ditetapkan seperti ear plug atau ear muff. Selain itu diharapkan pula agar Pabrik Es Perum Perikanan Indonesia Medan Belawan agar memfasilitasi pekerjanya untuk mengikuti pelatihan keselamatan kerja serta pemeriksaan kesehatan rutin agar pengetahuan serta kesehatan para pekerja dapat terjaga dan keselamatannya dapat terjamin.
