Este artículo presenta un estudio sobre el uso y desarrollo de las estrategias de enseñanza por parte de los estudiantes de grado y posgrado de programas de educación. Objetivos. Fueron conocer cuáles son las estrategias de enseñanza que privilegian en sus prácticas los estudiantes de los programas de grado y postgrado en educación, comparar e identificar diferencias en las estrategias de enseñanza que aplican los estudiantes de los programas de grado y posgrado en educación, y analizar la influencia de la formación de grado y posgrado en el tipo de estrategias de aprendizaje usadas. Metodología. La metodología de la investigación fue descriptiva de corte cuantitativo en cuatro universidades colombianas en la que se hizo un muestreo no probabilístico de oportunidad (n = 148). Para la recolección de los datos se aplicó la Escala de Estrategias Docentes para Aprendizajes Significativos (EEDAS) de Méndez y González (2011). Resultados. Los resutados muestran un uso entre moderado y alto de estas estrategias, siendo la menos usada el cuadro sinóptico y la más usada la analogía. Los datos también indican que entre la formación de grado y la formación de posgrado no ocurren cambios significativos en cuanto al uso de estrategias de enseñanza. Los resultados sugieren el interés de intensificar la formación en estrategias de enseñanza y la conveniencia de articular un plan de grado y postgrado que lo apoye.
