Abstract The giant panda ( Ailuropoda melanoleuca ) is a rare and vulnerable species facing threats from bacterial infections. The extensive use of antibiotics in disease prevention has raised concerns about antibiotic resistance, which reduces treatment efficacy and poses environmental and public health risks.
