Pan-immune-inflammation value as a novel predictor of pathological response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy combined with anti-PD-1 therapy in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma: a multicenter real-world retrospective clinical study
2025-09-01 • Jiang-Shan Huang, Qi-hong Zhong, Gang Wang, Zi-Lu Tang, Binglin Shen, Wei Liu, Fei-long Guo, Jingyu Wu, Zhen-yang Zhang, Jiangbo Lin
Background: Current biomarkers for predicting pathological response to neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) remain limited. Objective: This study investigates the potential of the pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV) as a biomarker for predicting pathological response after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy combined with anti-programmed death protein-1 (PD-1) therapy in ESCC. Design: A multicenter, real-world, retrospective clinical study conducted across five centers in Southern …

Optical characterization of ocular collagen microstructure and anisotropy in animal and human eyes
2025-12-02 • Zhenli Lin, Haiyang Li, Zhi Zeng, Yuxi Wang, Rui Hu, Junle Qu, Liwei Liu, Binglin Shen
Second-harmonic generation (SHG) microscopy enabled label-free, high-resolution visualization of ocular collagen structures in mouse, rabbit, and human pterygium tissues. Quantitative analyses using fast Fourier transform (FFT), gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM), and polarization-resolved SHG revealed regional variations in collagen alignment, texture anisotropy, and optical polarization dependence. The results demonstrate that SHG imaging can sensitively capture microstructural organization and pathological …

Surmounting photon limits and motion artifacts for biological dynamics imaging via dual-perspective self-supervised learning
2024-01-05 • Binglin Shen, Chenggui Luo, Wen Pang, Yajing Jiang, Wenbo Wu, Rui Hu, Junle Qu, Bobo Gu, Liwei Liu
Abstract Visualizing rapid biological dynamics like neuronal signaling and microvascular flow is crucial yet challenging due to photon noise and motion artifacts. Here we present a deep learning framework for enhancing the spatiotemporal relations of optical microscopy data. Our approach leverages correlations of mirrored perspectives from conjugated scan paths, training a model to suppress noise and motion blur by restoring degraded spatial features. Quantitative validation on vibrational calcium imaging validate…

Composition Regulation of Potassium Sodium Niobate Thin Films through Post-Annealing under Alkali Element Atmospheres
2024-01-30 • Binjie Chen, Chuanyang Tao, Wenying Fan, Binglin Shen, Min Ju, Zhongshang Dou, Chaofeng Wu, Fang‐Zhou Yao, Wen Gong, Ke Wang
Amorphous potassium sodium niobate (KNN) films were synthesized at 300 °C through the radio frequency magnetron sputtering method and subsequently crystallized by post-annealing at 700 °C in various alkali element atmospheres (Na and K). The as-deposited film is notably deficient in alkali metal elements, particularly K, whereas the loss of alkali elements in the films can be replenished through annealing in an alkali element atmosphere. By adjusting the molar ratio of Na and K in the annealing atmosphere, the rat…
