LE PIANTE SONO DESTRE O MANCINE?

Circumnutation is an oscillating movement of a growing plant organ that results from an endogenous rhythmic process intrinsic to growth. Circumnutating organs, as they extend, describe a helical trace. In Arabidopsis thaliana circumnutation is particularly evident in primary roots and occurs, as in most plants, in a right-handed direction. In A. thaliana the direction of circumnutation depends on the presence of a single gene with the right-handed allele dominant over the left -handed, as in Zea mays where again a…

Neutron, proton and gamma irradiations of silicon detectors
1994-06-01 • F. Lemeilleur, M. Gläser, E.H.M. Heijne, P. Jarron, C. Soave, C. Leroy, Julien Rioux, I. M. Trigger
Future high-energy hadron colliders (LHC, SSC) will generate a high flux of hadronic and electromagnetic particles in the experimental areas which has to be sustained by the detectors. The performance and electrical characteristics of silicon detectors evolve with time, during and after irradiations with 1 MeV neutrons up to $1.1 \\times 10^{14} \\rm{n \\ cm}^{-2}$, with 24 GeV protons up to $9.5 \\times 10^{13} \\rm{p \\ cm}^{-2}$, and with $^{60}$Co gammas up to 10 Mrad. Ion-implanted single-diode silicon detect…
