本邦における静脈性潰瘍に対する診療の現状を明らかにすることを目的として日本静脈学会会員が所属する施設へのアンケート調査を実施した．対象は平成28年1月から一年間の下肢静脈性潰瘍の初診患者とした．診断には超音波検査が94.4%に用いられ，静脈疾患受診者31,827例に対して513例が静脈性潰瘍と診断された．潰瘍の原因は一次性静脈瘤が497肢（84.7%）と圧倒的に多く，そのうち187肢に不全穿通枝が，27肢に深部静脈弁不全が合併していた．深部静脈血栓後遺症は29肢（4.9%）…

圧迫療法は静脈，リンパ疾患の基礎的な治療である．弾性着衣が圧迫圧を発揮する機序は複雑で，PLACE：P（Pressure）：圧，La（Layer）：層，C（Component）：構成要素，E（Elasticity）：伸縮性と分けてそれぞれの要素を考えるとわかりやすく，診療の現場でも治療方針決定の手助けとなる．また圧迫療法の成功には患者のコンプライアンスの向上が必須であり，やはりPLACE の因子を考慮にいれながら患者の受け入れられる圧迫療法を行うことが大切である．
