A heterostructure of Ba1−xSrxTiO3/La1.1Sr0.9NiO3/SrTiO3 has been analyzed by magnetic sector secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS). The stoichiometry parameter x of the top layer was made varying continuously from 0 to 1 along the width of the sample by combinatorial pulsed laser deposition. Prior to SIMS analysis, the composition gradient of Ba1−xSrxTiO3 was quantitatively characterized by chemical characterizations including wavelength and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopies. In this article, dielectric nonlinearities in 0.5(Ba0.7 Ca0.3 TiO3 ) -- 0.5(BaZr 0.2 Ti0.8 O3 ) thin film are studied using impedance spectroscopy and harmonic measurements, as a function of the AC measuring field, at different frequencies and upon cycling. The measurements reveal that the pinching of the hysteresis loop, characterized by a phase angle of the third harmonic close to --270 deg, is stronger for low frequencies. Subcoercive field non-linearities in 0.5(Ba0.7Ca0.3TiO3)-0.5(BaZr0.2Ti0.8O3) (BCTZ 50/50) thin film elaborated using pulsed laser deposition are studied using permittivity and phase angle of the third harmonic measurements as a function of the AC measuring field EAC and temperature. The global phase transition temperature Tmax for which the permittivity is maximum, decreases from 330 to 260 K when EAC increases.
