Optimization of a protocol for fertilized egg production in Japanese eel using recombinant gonadotropins, LHRHa, pimozide, and 17α-hydroxyprogesterone Open
Recently, two types of Japanese eel recombinant gonadotropins (rGths), recombinant follicle-stimulating hormone (rFsh) and luteinizing hormone (rLh), have been successfully produced. However, the protocol for obtaining fertilized eggs usin…

Effect of a long photoperiod on the timing of spawning in the Pacific bluefin tuna, Thunnus orientalis Open
In this study, we examined the effects of a long photoperiod on the reproduction of Pacific bluefin tuna (Thunnus orientalis) in a land-based tank. Three-year-old fish were shifted from a short (10.5 L:13.5D) to long (15 L:9D) photoperiod …

Establishment of cell-lines stably expressing recombinant Japanese eel follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone using CHO-DG44 cells: fully induced ovarian development at different modes Open
The gonadotropins (Gth), follicle-stimulating hormone (Fsh) and luteinizing hormone (Lh), play central roles in gametogenesis in vertebrates. However, available information on their differential actions in teleost, especially in vivo , is …

Prediction of the Sex-Associated Genomic Region in Tunas (Thunnus Fishes) Open
Fish species have a variety of sex determination systems. Tunas (genus Thunnus) have an XY genetic sex determination system. However, the Y chromosome or responsible locus has not yet been identified in males. In a previous study, a female…
