Did a national extended access scheme translate to improvements in patient experience to GP services in England? A retrospective observational study using patient-level data from the English GP patient survey
2025-03-08 • Lingjun Mou, Yiu‐Shing Lau, Patrick Burch, William Whittaker
Abstract Background Improving access to general practitioner (GP) services is seen as a way to enhance patients’ experiences. England introduced the national extended access scheme to provide routine and urgent GP appointments outside core hours. However, little is known about how this initiative affects patient experience, especially in terms of efficiency and equity. This study aimed to estimate the differential effects of extended access appointments on patient-reported satisfaction, focusing on different servi…

Comprehensive Chloroplast Genome Analysis of Four Callitriche (Plantaginaceae) Species for Phylogenetic and Conservation Insights
2025-01-10 • Zirui Zhang, Wenbo Shi, Siqi Hu, Lingjun Mou, Chao Shi, Bingyue Zhu, Jing Yang
Callitriche species are capable of purifying water, promoting wetland restoration, and providing natural shelters. Moreover, they can be utilized as horticultural plants for landscape greening. However, due to the threats of climate change and environmental degradation, some species within this genus have been listed as endangered. This study utilizes chloroplast genome analysis to provide molecular evidence for the classification and conservation of these species. We conducted a comprehensive sequencing and chara…

Retroperitoneoscopic Left Live Donor Nephrectomy
2025-01-01 • Marwan Idrees, Zi Qin Ng, Melvyn Kuan, Lingjun Mou
RDN demonstrates notable advantages over traditional laparoscopic methods, including shorter operative times, less postoperative pain, and quicker recovery, thereby enhancing donor safety and graft function. Our goal is to outline our institution's RDN technique, offering valuable insights to aid donor surgeons in incorporating this method into their surgical repertoire. This approach requires a precise surgical technique and adequate training to maximize outcomes and minimize donor complications.

Loss of diffusion restriction and arterial enhancement accurately predicts complete pathological response following Y-90 Selective Internal Radiation Therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma
2025-07-14 • Kah Heng Alexander Lim, Michael N. Clifford, William Ormiston, Tze Sheng Khor, Kenneth Ngo, Alistair Rowcroft, Lingjun Mou, Luc Delrivière, M. Chri...
<title>Abstract</title> Purpose To assess the association of diffusion restriction on diffusion weighted MRI (DWI) with complete pathological necrosis (CPN) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) following selective internal radiation therapy with Yttrium-90 resin microspheres (SIRT). Methods A retrospective cohort study of patients undergoing resection or transplantation for HCC following SIRT was performed. Imaging pre- and post-SIRT was assessed for response to treatment via mRECIST and for the presence of diffusion…

Hepatocellular carcinoma recurrence after liver transplant: An Australian single-centre study
2024-11-26 • M. Garas, Luis Calzadilla Bertot, Briohny Smith, Luc Delrivière, Bryon Jaques, Lingjun Mou, Leon A. Adams, Gerry MacQuillan, George Garas, Gary P....
BACKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Liver transplantation (LT) offers the most effective treatment. HCC recurrence is the strongest risk factor that decreases post-LT survival in patients transplanted for HCC. The rate of HCC recurrence is generally reported as 8%-20% in the literature. Many predictors of HCC have already been researched, however, to our knowledge there are no published studies on this topic using Australian data. AIM To determine the ra…
