和歌山県内のモモ園では，2008～2011年にクワシロカイガラムシの発生園率が 70％前後とウメシロカイガラムシより広範囲に発生していた。クワシロカイガラムシの１齢幼虫の発生盛期は，第１世代が５月第２半旬，第２世代が７月第４半旬，第３世代が９月第２～４半旬で，ウメシロカイガラムシに比べて，５～16日遅かった。また，クワシロカイガラムシに対し，秋期にブプロフェジン水和剤，冬期にマシン油乳剤を用いた体系防除を検討したところ高い防除効果が認められた。
