We present a wrapper for the Springer Nature RESTful API written for Python 3. The wrapper allows users to access their free-to-use endpoints via user-friendly interfaces and can be used without prior knowledge of RESTful APIs. The APIs allow users to query metadata and open-access full-text of articles, conference proceedings and books published with Springer Nature. Files are cached to speed up subsequent analysis. Economics Graduates North-America 1997-2017 with RePEc handles and Scopus IDs

This dataset contains information on dissertations of 20,559 new Economics PhDs who graduated from North American institutions between 1997/98 and 2016/17. It includes JEL codes and subjects (keywords) for nearly all dissertations. I added RePEc handles for 6,166 PhDs and Scopus IDs for 12,253 PhDs. The data result from a merger of the AEA's EconLit database and the Journal of Economic Literature's December issues. It was deduplicated and corrected where appropriate (see Notes).

Abstract This study provides the first systematic, international, large‐scale evidence on the extent and nature of multiple institutional affiliations on journal publications. Studying more than 15 million authors and 22 million articles from 40 countries we document that: In 2019, almost one in three articles was (co‐)authored by authors with multiple affiliations and the share of authors with multiple affiliations increased from around 10% to 16% since 1996.
