Surgical Delay and Functional Outcome After Surgery for Chronic Subdural Hematoma Open
In this post hoc analysis, shorter surgical delays for CSDH were associated with improved functional outcome. Our findings suggest that symptomatic CSDH patients should be operated on as soon as reasonably possible.

Night-time versus daytime surgical outcomes in chronic subdural hematomas: a post hoc analysis of the FINISH randomized trial Open
Objective The optimal timing of surgical intervention for chronic subdural hematomas (CSDH), specifically night-time versus daytime, remains a subject of debate, with concerns about the potential impact of circadian timing on surgical outc…

Mortality of older patients with dementia after surgery for chronic subdural hematoma: a nationwide study Open
Background dementia is associated with an excess risk of death but mortality after chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) evacuation in older people with dementia is unknown. We assessed the association between dementia and 1-year case-fatality …

Finnish study of intraoperative irrigation versus drain alone after evacuation of chronic subdural haematoma (FINISH): a study protocol for a multicentre randomised controlled trial Open
Introduction Chronic subdural haematomas (CSDHs) are one of the most common neurosurgical conditions. The goal of surgery is to alleviate symptoms and minimise the risk of symptomatic recurrences. In the past, reoperation rates as high as …
