Derivation of the shear modulus on the adhesive layer measured by digital image correlation: study on the tensile shear tests of wood-based materials with veneer Open
In this study, peeling veneers of Japanese cedar and Japanese larch were parallel or cross laminated, respectively, and tensile shear tests were conducted. As a result, for Japanese cedar veneers, significant difference in shear strength w…

Shear strength properties of hybrid (hinoki cypress and Japanese cedar) cross-laminated timber Open
In this study, the out-of-plane shear strength of hybrid cross-laminated timber (CLT) with outer layers of hinoki (hinoki cypress, Chamaecyparis obtusa ) and inner layers of sugi (Japanese cedar, Cryptomeria japonica ) is investigated for …

STUDY ON IN-PLANE PERFORMANCE OF CLT DIAPHRAGM CONNECTED WITH METAL PLATE AND SPLINE Open
Diaphragm need to have high in-plane strength and stiffness of shear walls to perform in structure. However, it is difficult to regard timber diaphragm as rigid due to characteristics of timber structures. Considering this background, ther…

Evaluation of rolling shear modulus and strength of Japanese cedar cross-laminated timber (CLT) laminae Open
Cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels are fabricated with their layers stacked crosswise. Owing to the low shear modulus and strength in the rolling shear direction, the shear properties of cross-layers influence the overall deflection and s…
