本研究は日本の9都市における、都市計画関連政策を1000 Cities Challengeの指標を用いて身体活動促進の観点から試行的に評価して、各都市の政策の現状を示すことを目的とする。結果として、身体活動促進につながる政策も散見されるが、文面を見る限りでは必ずしも身体活動促進を意識していると判断できない政策も多かった。指標別に見ると、自転車・歩行者インフラの整備についてはすべての市が、雇用分布や街路接続については、どの市も身体活動促進を意識した政策を持たなかった。
