Dissimilarity in radial growth and response to drought of Korshinsk peashrub (Caragana korshinskii Kom.) under different management practices in the western Loess Plateau
2024-04-08 • Cunwei Che, Mingjun Zhang, Wan‐Min Yang, Shengjie Wang, Yu Zhang, Lingling Liu
Quantitative assessment of tree responses to the local environment can help provide scientific guidance for planted forest management. However, research on the climate-growth relationship of Korshinsk peashrub ( Caragana korshinskii Kom.) under different land preparation and post-management (irrigation) conditions is still insufficient. In this study, we collected 223 tree-ring samples from Korshinsk peashrubs using dendroecological methods and systematically quantified the relationships between shrub growth and c…

Enhanced performance of GdBCO bulk superconductors by doping a new kind of YGdBa4CuNbO<i> y </i> nanoparticles
2024-01-12 • YanLan Cui, Wan‐Min Yang
Abstract In this work, a new kind of YGdBa 4 CuNbO y (YGdNb-11411) nano-particles was designed and sintered using a solid-state reaction method, whereas their impact on the performance of GdBCO bulks was investigated for the first time. From the acquired x-ray diffraction data and scanning electron microscopy imaging results, it was proved that the YGdNb-11411 particles were of excellent chemical stability and did not react with other phases during the crystal growth process. The YGdNb-11411 particles ranged from …

The Effect of the Pre-Infiltration Temperature on the Liquid-Phase Infiltration Characteristics and the Magnetic Properties of Single-Domain GdBCO Bulk Superconductors
2024-09-27 • Ting-Ting Wu, Wan‐Min Yang, Li Chen
In this study, the effect of the pre-infiltration temperature (Ti) on the liquid-phase infiltration characteristics and its effect on the magnetic properties of single-domain GdBCO bulks prepared by the top-seeded infiltration growth (TSIG) method are comprehensively investigated. The results reveal that (1) the liquid Ba-Cu-O phase (LP) did not uniformly infiltrate into the Gd2BaCuO5 (Gd-211) solid-phase pellet (SPP). (2) The initial melting and infiltration of the LP occurred at approximately 920 °C. The average…

The Effect of Infiltration Temperature on the Microstructure and Magnetic Levitation Force of Single-Domain YBa2Cu3O7-x Bulk Superconductors Grown by a Modified Y+011 IG Method
2024-12-27 • Nuerseman Maimaiti, Abulizi Abulaiti, Wan‐Min Yang
During the preparation of single-domain (S-D) REBa2Cu3O7-x (RE-123) superconducting bulks, the seed crystals can serve as templates for crystal growth, guiding the newly formed crystals to grow in a specific direction, thereby ensuring the consistency of the crystal orientation within the sample. However, the infiltration temperature is typically restricted to approximately 1050 °C when employing NdBa2Cu3O7-x (Nd-123) crystal seeds in the traditional top-seeded infiltration growth (TSIG) technique for producing si…

Effect of thickness on magnetic properties of single domain GdBCO bulk superconductors
2022-06-18 • Ping Gao, Wan‐Min Yang, Ting-Ting Wu, Miao Wang, Kun Liu
To study the influence of thickness on the magnetic properties of ReBCO (Re = Y, Gd, Sm, Nd, etc.) bulk superconductors, a single domain gadolinium barium copper oxide (GdBCO) bulk superconductor fabricated by the Re + 011 top seeded infiltration growth (Re + 011 TSIG) method was continuously sliced along the bottom to obtain samples of different thickness. The levitation force and attractive force of these samples were tested at 77 K in the zero-field-cooled (ZFC) state. It is found that as the sample thickness d…
