Scientific study of the nervous system

Neuroscience is the scientific study of the nervous system (including both the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system), its functions and disorders. It is a multidisciplinary science that combines physiology, anatomy, molecular biology, developmental biology, cytology, psychology, physics, computer science, chemistry, medicine, statistics, and mathematical modeling to understand the fundamental and emergent properties of neurons, glia and neural circuits. The understanding of the biological basis of learning, memory, behavior, perception, and consciousness has been described by Eric Kandel as the "epic challenge" of the biological sciences.

A Unified Deep-Domain Adaptation Framework: Advancing Feature Separability and Local Alignment
2025
In transfer learning, domain adaptation is one of the key research areas. For domain adaptation, domain shift is a known problem when the data distribution of the source domain, from which the training data is fetched, and the target domain, from which the test data is fetched, vary significantly. Aligning the source and target domains is a solution, but due to alignment, the intrinsic properties of the data may be altered. To address this issue of domain shift, we introduce a novel method, called “A Unified Deep-…
