Tsunami Warning System

System used to detect and warn the public about impending tsunamis

A tsunami warning system ( TWS ) is used to detect tsunamis in advance and issue the warnings to prevent loss of life and damage to property. It is made up of two equally important components: a network of sensors to detect tsunamis and a communications infrastructure to issue timely alarms to permit evacuation of the coastal areas. There are two distinct types of tsunami warning systems: international and regional. When operating, seismic alerts are used to instigate the watches and warnings; then, data from observed sea level height (either shore-based tide gauges or DART buoys) are used to verify the existence of a tsunami.

A Two-Memristor-based Chaotic System with Symmetric Bifurcation and Multistability
2025
In this work, the study of an innovative chaotic system made from two memristors with symmetric bifurcation and multistability is presented. Within a four dimensional chaotic framework, the system is architected with two flux controlled memristors. Computational simulations reveal intricate dynamical phenomena such as symmetric bifurcations, multistability, and very large sensitivity to initial conditions. Using Lyapunov exponents, bifurcation diagrams and phase portraits, we investigate the system's ability to pr…
