Michael Pettaway Tomlin (born March 15, 1972) is an American professional football coach who most recently served as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL) for 19 seasons. Joining the team in 2007, he led them to 13 playoff appearances, eight division titles, three AFC Championship Games, two Super Bowl appearances, and a title in Super Bowl XLIII. At age 36, Tomlin was the youngest head coach to win the Super Bowl at the time. He holds the record for most consecutive non-losing seasons to begin a coaching career with 19, and has never had a losing season, being one of only four NFL head coaches to have never had a losing season coaching more than 10 seasons. At the time of his resignation, Tomlin was the longest- tenured head coach in the four major North American sports leagues.
