President Trump on Wednesday is expected to announce an update to federal fuel standards set under the Biden administration.

The new proposal includes weakening mileage restrictions and loosening pollution regulations for gas-powered vehicles, according to The Associated Press. Former President Biden implemented policies — including a rule that requires cars to become 2 percent more efficient each year — that favor vehicles that cut down on greenhouse gas emissions.

The Transportation Department published an interpretive rule earlier this year that accused the previous administration of improperly considering electric vehicles (EVs) more efficient.

The event is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. EST.
