Video Description
Colombian President Gustavo Petro issued a strong warning after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened potential military action against any country involved in producing or trafficking drugs into the United States—hinting that Colombia could be targeted next. Speaking at the inauguration of the new El Tarra School-University in Catatumbo, Petro condemned what he called a “return to barbarism,” criticizing Trump’s rhetoric about missile strikes and land operations in Latin America. Petro urged a return to diplomatic dialogue instead of escalation, saying that global politics cannot be driven by threats and force. He also directed a message to Colombia’s ELN guerrilla group, calling them “brothers and sisters” and urging them to seize the moment and pursue peace amid rising foreign pressure.
