Video Description
Zeteo CEO and founder Mehdi Hasan joined trauma surgeon Dr. Feroze Sidhwa—who recently returned from Gaza—for a panel on the humanitarian crisis amid Israel’s ongoing assault on Palestinians.
The discussion, moderated by author and Alwaleed Center director Nader Hashemi, was held at Georgetown University before a packed audience of students, staff, and guests. It followed a screening of Zeteo’s documentary ‘Gaza: Doctors Under Attack.’
Mehdi and Dr. Sidhwa spoke about Israel’s assault, the mounting death toll, and the human stories of Palestinians on the ground. They also addressed the failures of mainstream outlets like the BBC and The New York Times in adequately covering the atrocities. “I think the BBC has failed us, as have many of our mainstream media organizations over the last two years,” Mehdi told the audience.
Dr. Sidhwa, who has volunteered in Gaza twice since the genocide began and plans to return again this year, described the brutal realities of working as a doctor under bombardment. “It’s not pleasant. You’re physically uncomfortable. You’re hungry, you’re tired,” he said. “The hospital is quite literally rocking back and forth.”
